Digtal Downloads
Each image is supplied as a high-resolution, print-ready JPEG file (uncompressed for the best quality). A secure download link will be available immediately after your purchase, so you can access your files right away.
You’ll receive your image as a high-resolution, uncompressed JPEG file. JPEG is the most widely supported format, making it both convenient and flexible. It works seamlessly across all digital devices and is accepted by both local and online print shops for professional-quality printing.
All images are provided at the highest quality and resolution available. The exact resolution varies depending on the aspect ratio (landscape, portrait, panorama, or wide-angle panorama), and is listed in each product description.
As a guide, typical resolutions include:
- 3:2 aspect ratio — 12000 × 7994px (96MP)
- 2:1 aspect ratio — 12000 × 6000px (72MP)
- 3:1 aspect ratio — 12000 × 4000px (48MP)
These are exceptionally high-resolution files. For comparison, most iPhones produce images around 4000px on the long edge, while many digital cameras capture around 5000px. This means you’ll have more than enough resolution for large, high-quality prints.
Yes — as soon as your purchase is complete, your files will be ready for immediate download.
The size you can print depends on the resolution (PPI – Pixels Per Inch) of the file and how closely it will be viewed. Many labs recommend 300 PPI for small prints viewed up close, such as in magazines or photo books. To calculate this, divide the image dimensions by 300. For example, a 6000 × 4000px file prints at about 20″ × 13.3″ at 300 PPI.
However, 300 PPI isn’t always necessary. For larger wall art, prints are often made at a lower PPI, since they’re designed to be viewed from further away. For instance, commercial billboards are printed at just 10–15 PPI, but they look crisp from their intended viewing distance.
As a guide:
- 0.6m viewing distance → ~300 PPI
- 1m → ~180 PPI
- 1.5m → ~120 PPI
- 2m → ~90 PPI
- 3m → ~60 PPI
- 5m → ~35 PPI
- 10m → ~18 PPI
- 15m → ~12 PPI
- 50m → ~4 PPI
Different print materials also play a role. Canvas is forgiving, as the ink spreads slightly and disguises lower resolutions, while glossy papers show more detail and benefit from higher PPI.
👉 If you’re unsure, take the file to your local photo lab. They can provide the best advice for your intended size and medium, and may even produce test prints so you can see the results before committing.
For the best results, I recommend taking your file to a local professional photo lab. They’ll be able to guide you through material choices, paper types, and framing options to ensure your print looks its best.
If you’d prefer to use an online service, options like Snapfish or Fitzgerald Photo (Australia) are excellent. Both offer online mock-up tools and can deliver high-quality products — from framed prints to canvas and acrylics — straight to your door.
All files are provided as high-resolution, uncompressed, print-ready JPEGs, but printing can be complex and results may vary depending on how and where you print.
- The quality of the print will only ever be as good as the printer, inks, and materials used. A professional photo lab will generally achieve far better results than a home printer.
- Not all commercial print services are equal. Some budget-friendly online printers prioritise price over quality, which can lead to less vibrant colours or lower-quality finishes.
- Screen vs print: Colours on your monitor, phone, or tablet may differ from the final print if your device isn’t professionally colour-calibrated. This can cause prints to look slightly different from what you see on screen.
👉 For the best results, I recommend taking your file to a professional photo lab, where trained staff can advise on paper, finishes, and colour matching. Many labs also use colour-calibrated screens to help you preview how the final print will look before it’s produced.
